Holloways Beach is located in Queensland, Australia this is a small suburb of Cairns, It gets its name from the small beach of the same name but spelled without the “s” Holloway Beach. In around the 1970s the name was changed to the current spelling with the apostrophe added back.
While this is a small seaside location in Cairns, the beachside suburb is growing in size and now features a resort right on the waterfront. The problem at Holloways Beach is the beach itself is very narrow and some areas are suffering from erosion problems.
Some of the locals are trying to come up with ways to stop the sands slipping away and the houses too. Beach erosion can be a big problem in some areas of Australia many houses have had to be saved over the years.
